Hardy Island to Octopus Islands to Blind Channel Marina
We had a great Cinco de Mayo in Hardy Island. Thomas's have friends who own a beautiful spot on Hardy Island. We had 3 of us tie up on a buoy and the other 3 at the private dock. Another beautiful weather day with Cinco De Mayo Margaritas and Taco's on the deck! Oysters, Clams and a nice hike on the island. We left on May 6 for the Octopus Islands via Hole in the Wall. The current was running strong but we had a wonderful night at our first stern tie to shore with 5 boats. Fran and Jeff went another way so it was Nelsea, Miners Debt, Magic Moment, Sea Life and Spirit Bear for the evening. Today we left back thru Hole in the Wall as the weather is definitely windy with gale force winds in the Johnstone straits so we decided to stay inside thru Dent Rapids and Cordero Channel. We are all tied up at the dock at blind channel - they opened the store for us and we will spend the night here before heading to Forward Harbor or Port Harvey depending on the winds.
Steve and Michelle Nelson's travels to Canada and Alaska aboard the Nelsea. The Nelsea is a 62 ft Offshore and is our home as we cruise the Inside Passage from Gig Harbor, WA.

May 2 - May 5
Nanaimo
We have been in Nanaimo for a few days since the winds are howling but today is our opportunity to cross over to Pender. It is still blowing but predicted to be the best day for many many days so we will be leaving here about 8am. Whiskey Gulf is active which makes us have to cross over a different way so a bit lumpy of a ride we expect. We had a good few days in Nanaimo - even got a pedicure!
On we go.

Port Madison to Roche Harbor
Wow! Another spectacular day - we have amazing water crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca - Slack and dead calm! Lets hope the wonderful weather and water continue as we head north.

April 30th, 2016
April 30 - We are off! Pulled away from the boathouse about 2:30 heading for Port Madison for our first evening of the 2016 Alaska Adventure. Beautiful sunny day and a nice cruise to start. Nellie tows nicely behind and everything is working on the boat (as it should be since Steve has been working on getting things ready since January!).

Alaska 2016
Here We Go Again - Off to Alaska on May 1, 2016!
We are taking the Nelsea to Alaska again. We had such a phenomenal trip last time and many of the same group we traveled with the first time in 2013 are making the voyage again so we decided to go explore more of Alaska. We will be traveling with Miners Debt (Tom and Chris Miner), Magic Moment (Glen and Liz Dodge), Spirit Bear (Pete and Linda Jung), Salpare (Jeff and Fran Sharp), and SeaLife (Willard and Diane Thomas) and will update you on our adventures once the voyage begins. Stay Tuned!

August 2013
We are settling back in at home. There is a lot to catch up on when you close your house for several months! But we are already planning more boating adventures - in fact Steve has gone to Whidbey Island today to look at a 18ft Grady White that we can tow for fishing, crabbing etc. That was one thing we realized on our trip this summer - it is not possible to fish from our boat tender!
We have a short list of things we want to do to the boat before the next journey North. The weather at home has been beautiful - some strange lightening storm the other night but the sunsets have been amazing. I am still learning how to use the new camera!
More adventures to come!
