Canada July 19 - August 3

July 19-July 20   We left Port McNeil for Browing Passage where we spent 1 night then on to Bull Harbor for our last night with Chris and Tom Miner on Miner's Debt.  They are heading back to spend time with family in Desolation Sound.  It has been fun cruising with you guys!

July 21 -July 28 We rounded the North end of Vancouver Island and our first stop was Kaprina Harbor in Quatsino Sound.  Other places we stayed were Port Alice, Varney Bay, Coal Harbour and Winter Harbour.  We crabbed, fished and toured and what a great stop.  We got our first Salmon, more Crab and even golfed in Port Alice.  The weather has changed and it is actually hot many days and we started catching more fish outside of Winter Harbor - mainly Silvers. I caught a King- 18lbs. If you ever get the chance to go to the Museum at Coal Harbour- it is our second time there and it is a great museum of everything from a huge Whale Jaw bone, model cars, antique fire truck, chainsaws, radios and old telephones, motors, etc!  I have attached pictures - it is the only thing besides a fuel dock for small boats and the museum but what a treat!

We had another dinghy trip thru the Marble River which is always amazing. I found a rock left by a previous camper that was fun to find!

July 29 - August 2   We moved around Brooks Peninsula on the 29th as the weather was favorable and we ended up in Kyuoquot Sound and visited Meyer Island, Woods Cove, Blue Lips Cove and Union Island.  We had a couple great days of fishing - two more Kings and several Silvers.  Our best day of fishing was when Steve got a 22lb King and we also caught 4 Silvers and a LingCod. The Rugged Point recreation area is right at the South entrance to Kyuoquot Sound and we took the small boats over to hike thru the woods to the ocean beaches.

August 3 - We moved further South to Nuchatlitz Inlet where our anchorage is in Mary Basin. We went on a dinghy ride to the ocean beaches and also found the site of an old vessel that sank. It was cut up and towed in pieces to the beach for ???
